Paul Neville's opinion on Whablow 2000-01
Well, the season has flown by and we've ended up pointless, but not without giving a few teams a scare. This was most notable in the match against Ainsley Wood, where we lead 1-0 at half time. They were shouting and complaining and we really had the upper hand for a long period of the match. Also, turning 1-0 down to 2-1 up against Roding Valley, and pulling back to 3-3 from 2-0 down against Westhamians on the last day of the season were notable performances by Whablow. Next season new players are coming in, and so I still have reason to be optimistic of Whablow's future.

Goal Descriptions Season 2001-02
NEIL BIANCHI v Ainslie Wood (N) 02/09/01 Friendly

With 30 minutes played and the game still goalless, Martin Kendrick
sent in a hopeful cross from the right. Bianchi rose well to nod the
ball into the path of his strike partner Orane Fisher, who controlled
the ball well and sent a low left foot shot back across the goalkeeper.
The 'keeper got a hand to the goalbound effort but couldn't hold it, and
there was Bianchi on cue to slot the ball into the empty net to make
it 1-0 to the Blues.
ROBERT BUTTWELL v Ainslie Wood (H)
League
30/09/2001
Mid-way through the second half, Whablow launched an attack down
the right wing. Corck-Adelman gathered the ball after a neat pass
and managed to poke the ball past the defender just as he was going
in for a tackle. The tackle resulted in a foul just inside the penalty
area and the referee had no hesitation in giving the penalty. Buttwell's
spot kick was initially saved but he managed to latch onto the
rebound to pull a goal back for Whablow.
